Create Tasks

Tasks help you get stuff done.  Track everything you need to do before and after meetings.  Create Tasks for yourself or assign Tasks to colleagues & customers to drive results.

Important for first time users!  Go to Settings in your profile and confirm your Timezone.  Messeji uses this to manage Meetings and Tasks.

Add Task from Task List

Click the ‘+ Task’ button from the top menu of the Task List to create a Task

  1. Related Meeting
    • Associate your Task with a Meeting
    • Start typing the Meeting name and select from your existing meeting list
  1. Enter Task Title & Description
    • Enter a Task Title
      • We recommend making the Title specific, so you can easily identify the Task in your Task List and to give the Task Assignee an indication of what needs to be done
    • Enter a Task Description
      • Provide a full description of what needs to be done, your Task Assignee will be able to read the full description
  1. Assign the Task
    • Type the Assignee’s name in the ‘Assign To’ field
    • Or leave the field blank if you are creating a Task for yourself
    • You can assign your Task to existing Contacts or create new Contacts 
  1. Set Due Date & Reminder
    • Select the Due Date
      • If you associated your Task with a Related Meeting, be mindful of the Meeting Date and whether you need the Task completed before or after the Meeting
    • Set Reminder
    • If the Task is Important, tick the ‘Important’ box to flag in your Task List
  1. SAVE
    • Once you Save your Task, you can Send a Task Assignment Email to your meeting Task Assignee
    • Check out the Task Assignment Emails article for more information on sending Task Assignments from messeji
    • If you don’t want to send the Task Assignment Email at this time, or if you have created a personal Task, click the ‘Go back to work’ button to return to your Task List OR click ‘X’ to your Tasks page 

Create Task from Meeting Card

You can create Tasks from your Meeting Card.  Create Pre-meeting Tasks before your meeting and Follow-up Tasks after your meeting.

  • From the Meeting Card, type the Task title in the ‘Add new item’ field – press ENTER or click the ‘+’ icon
  • Tasks created from the Meeting Card are initially assigned to you, but can be updated and assigned to a colleague or customer as required
  • Click the Task title to navigating to the Tasks page to update the Task

Edit Tasks

Click the EDIT button to update your Task

  1. Related Meeting
    • The Related Meeting will automatically populate
      • You cannot change the Related Meeting
  1. Enter Task Title & Description
    • The Task Title will automatically populate
      • You cannot change the Task Title in Edit Mode
    • Enter a Task Description
      • Provide a full description of what needs to be done
  1. Assign the Task
    • Type the Assignee’s name in the ‘Assign To’ field
    • Or leave the field blank if you are creating a Task for yourself
    • You can assign your Task to existing Contacts or create new Contacts 
  1. Set Due Date & Reminder
    • Select the Due Date
      • Pre-meeting Tasks will be due 1 day before the Meeting date by default
      • Follow-up Tasks will be due 3 days after the Meeting date by default
    • Set Reminder
      • If you assign your Task, make sure the ‘Send email’ box is ticked to send a Reminder email (see Task Assignment Emails)
    • If the Task is Important, tick the ‘Important’ box to flag in your Task List
  1. SAVE
    • Once you Save your Task, you can Send a Task Assignment Email to your Task Assignee
    • Check out the Task Assignment Emails article for more information on sending Task Assignments from messeji
    • If you don’t want to send the Task Assignment Email at this time, or if you have created a personal Task, click the ‘Go back to work’ button to return to your Task List OR click ‘X’ to your Tasks page

Create Task during a Meeting

You can create Follow-up Tasks while you run your Active Meeting.  Agree on next steps during your meeting and assign Follow-up Tasks on the fly.  messeji allows you to assign Tasks to everyone, including your customers!

  • Type new Tasks in the ‘Enter title’ field – press ENTER or click the ‘+’ icon
  • If your Task is completed during the meeting, or if it is no longer required, you can tick the box next to the Task
  • You can update your Tasks, set a due date, and assign the Task in the Meeting Wrap-up 
    • You can also update your Task in Edit Task after Meeting Wrap-up is complete
  • After you update your Tasks, you can send a Meeting Summary Email
    • Meeting Summary Emails will be sent to the email address associated with your messeji Contact
  • Your Task assignee will click ‘Manage in messeji’ from the Meeting Summary Email to see and interact with your Task
